Dr. Melinda Thomas De Jesus received her bachelor's degree at the University of California Berkeley. Dr. De Jesus worked in contact lens and dry eye research at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. She then pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree concurrent with a Masters degree in Vision Science at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, CA. She has presented her dry eye research at the American Academy of Optometry in 2017 and currently has 2 manuscripts awaiting publication.
Dr. De Jesus received her clinical training at Camp Pendelton Naval Hospital working with active duty navy and marine soldiers then at the Veterans Affairs Community Clinic in Salem Oregon specializing in disease and elderly populations. She trained closely with ophthalmology at Orange County Retina in Santa Ana and at California Eye Specialists in Pasadena. Dr. De Jesus is glaucoma certified and in the treatment and management of eye diseases.
She is fluent in English and Italian, and is proud to offer Spanish language eye exams. In her free time she sings weekly in a church choir and enjoys traveling.
